- Features of a heart attack
- Responding to a heart attack
- Performing CPR
- Infection control issues
- When to stop CPR
- Records and legal issues
- Knowledge test
Lecture, group discussion and practical
exercises using a resuscitation manikin
Students are assessed on the basis of
their performance of the exercises and
in the summative test at the end.

- Skills for Care Induction Standards
- National Vocational Qualifications
- Voluntary Aid Societies guidelines
- Resuscitation Council (UK) guidelines
- Attendance forms
